Steve and Julian from Elite Karate have been supporting our students at Talbot Specialist School for the last 6 months. This is the first time students at Talbot have had the chance to take part in Karate lessons and they have been a phenomenal success. Everyone was apprehensive at first when we held a taster day for the whole school. Both Steve and Julian were magnificent with our students and really took the time and effort to make sure everyone was engaged, ensuring that no one was left out without having a go. Without a shadow of a doubt this has been the most popular and uplifting club we have run at Talbot.
The students are now engaged in weekly sessions and at the end of last term we saw a number of students achieve their red belt, something never achieved by Talbot students before. The success is all down to the instructors and their brilliant nature with some very complex students making sure they are actively engaged and disciplined when taking part in the classes. Without a doubt this has been an incredible experience and one that will continue into the future.

Steve Hegarty has been working at Lydgate Junior School for almost a year now. He runs a club for our children before school on Wednesday mornings. It is lovely to see the children arriving at school at 7.40 am in their karate suits! Over the year the club has steadily increased in numbers and is well attended. The children have shown commitment to this sport and really seem to enjoy this form of exercise before the start of the school day. Although the children are working very hard performing many moves and exercises, there is a sense of calmness about the session that makes one want to stop and watch for a while. Steve has excellent relationships with all members of our club. Some of the children who find the school day a bit of a challenge are really engaged in the sport and we have found it to be of benefit to their work and overall concentration. Many of the group have also achieved their first belt which has given them a real sense of achievement and boosted their confidence. This is definitely a club that we are looking to keep here at Lydgate and we are extremely grateful for the hard work Steve has put in.

Elite Karate came strongly recommended to me by another school and they have not let us down! They have now completed their second half term of after school clubs with us and I am delighted with their contribution to our school enrichment programme.
The instructors have all been utterly reliable, totally professional and very easy to communicate with. The children love working with them and they have really enjoyed the sessions. In fact we have now had some of our children joining the newly formed Elite Karate Club at our local comprehensive, which is testament to the work of the instructors.
I shall be continuing to use Elite Karate!

Hallam Primary School is a school dedicated to Martial Arts and offers our Key Stage 1 & 2 pupils the chance learn Karate run by chief instructor Steve Hegarty (4th Dan) from Elite Karate. We have had a fantastic response for the club from all year groups with the children learning about the culture, language and the self-defense aspects of Karate. You can see the confidence increasing by the session as the young people progress through their grading belts and work on the physical aspects such as balance, co-ordination, flexibility and power. Karate is a great way to keep fit, learn new skills, have fun and gain new friends and having Steve as part of our After School Sports Programme compliments our schools ethos. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Steve and Elite Karate for their hard work dedicated to Hallam Primary School and look forward to continued success.

Steve has worked alongside us for a number of years now to give all of our children a flavour of Karate. Through his excellent whole class taster sessions, Steve has introduced some basic moves to children from the ages of 4-11. He has also given them an insight into the discipline and respect which the sport requires, as well as some of the Japanese language which goes with it.
Steve and his colleague Sue have run a number of successful after school clubs aimed at both younger and older children. They have been popular and have been well received by parents and pupils alike. I look forward to working with him again in the future!

Bradway Primary School has had Elite Karate provide sessions for our children aging from 4-11 for the past two years. The children have been able to learn confidence, committment and a new experience in a sport which teaches them balance, respect, self control, discipline and body awareness. Elite Karate have run both lunchtime and after school sessions which have proven popular amongst our children. Elite Karate have also provided free taster sessions and demonstrations during assemblies to enthuse and excite the children and increase participation. We have always found Elite Karate to be professional, flexible, reliable and friendly and would recommend them to other schools.
